N/A rating option
When setting up a review, you can decide whether to include or exclude N/A (Not Applicable) ratings. In general, we recommend including N/A ratings to ensure flexibility, especially when certain questions may not apply to all employees. This approach prevents participants from assigning scores that do not accurately reflect performance, resulting in more accurate reviews.
For example, if you're conducting a manager-only review, there might be questions about an employee's client interactions that the manager hasn’t had a chance to observe. Allowing N/A ratings allows the manager to skip these questions, focusing only on areas they can confidently assess.
If a question is rated N/A, we don’t include the question in score calculations. For example, if one question was rated N/A in an assessment with 10 questions, we treat the assessment as if there were only 9 questions. However, if a question is left unrated, we treat that as a below-target rating.
