Types of interview questions

Competency questions

Competency questions are associated to a competency and a proficiency level. Only questions that correspond to the competencies and proficiency levels set on a job can be added to a template. Your site comes with hundreds of default questions mapped to competencies. You can edit the questions we provide as well as create your own.

Each question can only be associated to one competency and one proficiency level.

Topic questions

Topic questions give you the flexibility to really customize interviews for your organization. Think of topics like tags for organizing your more generic interview questions that aren’t based on competencies. You can create your own topics such as introductory questions, interpersonal skills, or leadership questions. Then create questions associated to each topic. A topic question can be added to any interview template.

Each question can be associated to multiple topics.
